I have a osage stave that has some minor worm damage in the working section of the limb. It's 1/8"x1/4" and all the way thru the stave from front to back. So is this stave going to need to be backed or will it be okay? I can always sinew it I guess.

You might be able to put in a "Dutchman plug" and leave that area a little stiff or fill the hole with fine saw dust and super glue. You should do the latter in sessions to eliminate voids. I think I'd cover the hole in the belly(back?) with masking tape first then work up to the back(front?).

hmmmm sounds like that would work. think i'll try the saw dust and glue

Like I said, go slowly and build it up in stages. Look out for the fumes from the super glue as you go.

Second what pat said makes a good repair.but oh those fumes :-X

fumes are annoying but are they actually dangerous?

Breath enough of them and your lungs will answer that question .seriously it all adds up, protect your lungs at all cost.

True! Will be more careful. Thanks
