This is the first surviving bow I ever made.
ERC 50" n-n with 2 layers silk on it. I was so dumb I didn't know this was probably not gonna survive, but it did if you call massive set and not so great tiller surviving. It has probably a dozen knots in the back filled with nothing but TB2 :o
It was 40# at 28" when I made it and I had it on the tiller stick at full draw while I was staring at it cause I didn't know better. I am pretty sure I didn't dry it long enough either; probably would have exploded if I had.
The other ERC bow I just posted is this ones cousin from across the road here so I thought since I never posted this I would look at the diff.
What is interesting is that I just put it on the pulley and it hit 61# at 28". Had to wait til nobody else was home to give it a whirl!!

dang! still looks cool..whats that gitfiddle in the pic??

That's a ESP Del. Lmt. that gets very neglected lately. The strat doesn't even have strings on it anymore. What happened to me???? ::)
-
That's very cool, impressive despite the set.
-
Maybe it's time to build a ERC strat to match those pretty bows!
-
thought so..got an ESP bass musself! 8)

Uh Oh, I am visualizing a spliced riser/handle section made of a guitar neck 8) >:D

Looks pretty cool though, I wonder how many of us have the first bow we ever made? I have mine, I havent shot it probably 8 or nine years.

-

Nicely done!
Not much set considering...

So this death-defying bow actually gained 21 pounds over the holidays? That's even more than I did!

Well, no. I made this around fall 2011 and then went on to other bows since then. The other ERC I just finished got me thinking about this one so I got it off the rack and checked it over and I guess the time drying must have had an effect? So what you almost did over the holidays took this little bow over a couple years ;D
