Title: Tree ID

Here is a tree I cut today not sure what it is, elm or hophornbeam. I'm not the expert....but if I was to guess , it looks like elm to me...........but I could be wrong.

It smells like elm, either way good bow wood.

Dogwood........You can tell by its bark :o.....Looks like elm.

looks like elm.Plane a small piece to see the grain and you'll know for sure. Definitely not HHB. Bark is a lot finer scales on the HHB.

The first thing that came to mind was elm, I have some like that drying in my garage. But I'm no expert on what are "exotic" trees over here :P

Exotic!!  :o I bet you got some exceptional bow wood over there that we'd call exotic.  I 'd like to get my hands some of that stuff  :)

Looks more like red elm but hard to tell will little info and bark only. Bow wood at this point :)
