This may be an old question, but what is the best thing to use to write information on a bow? I tried a ballpoint pen, both black and white, and it works OK, but not effortlessly, and the end result looks sloppy. I had tried a felt tip marker before, and all was well and good until I applied polyurethane, and almost ruined the bow...
Are there ink stamps that I can use?

Get a jar of ink and a fine point ink pen.
-
India ink and calligraphy pen.

I use pre-filled drawing pens, cost about $1.79 each. They are called "Nano-liner".
-
wood burner!

I use an ultra-fine tipped Sharpie. Then a coat of clear fingernail polish or lacquer over that.
-
I just use a standard pencil I don't see the need to go get some special pens and ink Just to write the draw weight

I do like Jackcrafty, but seal over it with a little water based min wax poly.

I apply one or two thin layers of a " spray on " finish right on top of the wording.
Let it dry well then apply any other finish that you might want.
Spraying on a finish does not smear the ink.
