Title: Hatchet find at a antique shop
Post by: mcginnis6010 on December 31, 2013, 10:26:48 pm
I found this hatchet in a little antique shop inside of a indoor farmers market in the next town over. I will be going back as they have mant, many hatchets axes, adzes, blacksmith tongs, anvils, a forge, and a buffalo blower amongst many other quite useful tools. The hatchet is a true temper jet rocket.

You better get back there and buy out all of that stuff, as Mullet is on his way!  He is the "Messiah" of flea market Pickers.  I would love to have that Anvil, and blower, and tongs, etc.!  Good find!

there are a couple of anti "Q" shops that I frequent. They always have hatchets and axes, but as my dad likes to say, "they sure do like their junk" meaning they always want a lot of money! Old axes are also hard to get at auctions. Seems someone always has more money than I care to spend.

Well i picked this one up for 10 bucks and the anbil they have looks to be about a 200-250lb and mounted on a very old piece of hardwood. Im thinking probably BL because it doesn't show too much rot. They were asking 350 or 400 for it. I cant rember. Overall their prices weren't too bad.

Is that the antique shop south of Harrisonburg?  They have a wierd drawknife with a 1" semicircle in the center of the blade.
