Made this knife on a free weekend a few weeks ago. Made from an old nicholson file. Black locust scales. Let me know what you think! :)

That looks very good! Should make a good boning knife :)
-
Fine looking knife.
-
that's a nice looking knife!
-
No too bad for a college student, Ryan! ;)

Great job. It has an elvish quality to it. I still need to make one out of a file. Did you use any power tools? The bevel looks great.
-
Thanks guys! :D
Matt, I used my belt sander to grind it to shape and grind in the bevel and used cutting bits in my dremel tool to cut it to a rough shape. T

Great job looks very clean

Very nice......beefy and looks sharp too.

GREAT Job Ryan!! Love the looks of that handle and blade design. Got a keeper there, dpg

Nice Knife Ryan.
You going to use it during your first brain surgery? ;D

Thanks guys! It's definitely beefy. I copied the blade design from another knife I saw online. Had nice lines and was a good size for the file I had on hand. One thing that can't be seen very well is the butt of the handle is ground down to a point as a sort of window breaker. Saw it on some other designs while looking at knives and decided to put it in there.

Nice knife Ryan. I like thick knives like that one.

I think that knife would be handy in a kitchen, alongside your plate in a steak house, or in your hand in a back alley.

Thanks guys! It is my first. I figured it would just be a good general purpose knife. I'm already dreaming of making the next one. ::)
