Title: Approximate draw length?
Post by: Wylden Freeborne on December 20, 2013, 06:27:24 am
Hey all, I am making a bow for a young man who does not know he is getting a bow! He is 5 ft. tall. What is the approximation for a draw length at that height?

All depends on his arm length but I would guess 24/25 would be very close to average. :)

If he is 5´ now he will be 5´5 tomorrow  ;D
Make a bow with suiable weight at say 25" and tiller it out to 27 or so to get some room for growth.
i have made 3 bows for my nephew in 2 years.... he grows like  :o

I am 5'6" and draw 26". I have friends that are my height draw 24.5" and 28". I would just act like it is a joke measuring his arms because he won't know about that's how you measure draw length. He will just think you have gone a little crazy  ;D
