blew ip a chittamwood bow today...note to self....go slow..stupid!     ah well.   :laugh:

I'd say go a little slower than you would on other woods , my first one blew up , about five inches to go to reach my draw length and it blew . I have one that I've shot but because its so easy to ding and scratch I'm going to back it with something , I've got a little more to do on it and shoot it some more befor I do . I took it real slow and if I so much as thought I was getting in a hurry I put it down for a day or two before going back to it .

under left eye...too close to my eye!   :-[   would have ended bow building at bow five had it put my eye out.

That's why I use a tree until I'm satisfied that a bow will survive repeated pulls.

Ouch that looks like it hurt.  I had one blow up on me in the hand two years ago.  Ever sense I do same as Gordon.

The funniest part about the whole thing was the look of disappointment on his face right after it blew. I couldn't help but burst out into laughter after I realized he was okay. What a friend :P

yeah Jason your a peach!!  no really guys he laughed ,, Out Loud!!  payback for smackin a table while he was workin a bow...now that was funny , he ducked so low he could have grazed his chin on the ground...oh well..pics from the "splosion" coming.
