This is a point I made using a wooden hammer , while doing a demo for the PA State Museum.

Reminds me of some work them Parker boys did with their baseball bats/persimmon billets. Nice work on an extremely tough rock!

From one of those Parker boys, nice point! You have to earn every quartzite point you make, that's for sure. that's some good looking material, too (for quartzite.) I love to watch Jack Cresson working that stuff, he makes it look easy.

Thanks for the comments its a gnarly rock to work but it is what interests me for now. I have wanted to learn the hard rocks for some time and am making some real head way.

Never used a wooden mallet. I have a couple but never thought about using them while knapping. Cool 8)
