I just discovered a large patch of strawberry guava trees way back in the woods. I've heard of guava bows so I'm assuming strawberry guava will work well too. I've got two pieces drying now :D
Here's a little treefrog hanging out on the trunk of one. There were much thicker ones out there.

Strawberry Guava makes an excellent bow. If that's a Cuban Tree frog, squish him. :)

That's a cool photo. The bark is a real neat color.

Awesome! In that case I have a good supply. That's not a cuban it's a squirrel treefrog.

We had a guy in Hawaii that used to post some of the most amazing guava bows. He got into hunting with high powered air rifles and eventually moved to Italy for family reasons. He posted under the non de plume of NomadicPirate.
Can't wait to see what you are going to do, PrimTim.

I went through and looked at some of his bows. I'm excited to start working on some of this wood. I'll probably start on one later in the winter.

Yeah, I buried it ten feet underground to let it season... you can dig it up in a couple years >:D

So do you get any guavas? I had a strawberry guava in the yard for awhile, the mango won that sunlight battle. I have lychee , ,longan, starfruit ,avocado, fig, atamoya and mango trees. I never heard anyone using fruit wood for a bow.I'll be looking for some photos when it's done.

Whoa whoa, those are some fancy words. I'm not really sure what that looks like.
So do you get any guavas?
I have tasted them and they're ok. They're ripe during the warmer (hot) months. They're decent I guess.
I'll be sure to post photos when I get one made if it turns out well.
