This is a osage bow sinew backed. Complete made from nature materials. Osage, deer sinew, deer rawhide, string linen, handle rawhide (inside leather), painted with nature colors from plants. 52 inch from tip to tip, 50#@28".
I made this bow for a period over one year. The bow shoot very fast. I use bamboo arrows.

Sweet bow.

LIke it alot! very nice bow!
What kind of colour did you used to make the bluish arrows painting?
-
Hi John, find better words in german, but i try: the nocks made with sinew and rawhide. First, put sinew from the back to the belly, then in angle of 90 degrees.
The "string follow" on belly side is formed with a other string, with a slick surface. Once, if it`s dried, i put a rawhide over it.
The blue painting is mixed Ligusterbeeren*, Alaun* and Vinegar.
The yellow is also Alaun and Vinegar and Osage (fine strands)
*german ;-)

"privet berries and Alum/vinegar?"

Thanks Beaverbow! I get it; rawhide shaped when wet and allowed to dry. Good stuff!

Wooo hoo! :o Too bad you can't hunt with it. What about in Switzerland ? Austria? Das iss eine "Jager" !! ;) 8) 8)! You certainly did a beautiful job on that bow! A lot of work, but a lot of bow in return! Oh definitely put that in "Bow of the Month"!! Beautiful job.
