Finally got this set done tonight. Been busy lately with deer season and a house remodel for my brother, so it took me longer than it should have. Also needed to move my knapping pit into the garage for the cold months and was able to finish the last point in the relative comforts of my workshop. 3 TX chert, 2 Burlington, and 1 hornstone. Hope to get em headed your way soon, Bryan.

-
Lotta fun peckin out a set of side notchers! Them will do the job.
-
Thanks guys.
Paul, 2 of them come from your rock after heated.
-
Those are purty....What are the dimensions? I've been trying to make some 1 1/2" long ang 7/8" wide using the Overstreet book as a guide. Also, what are you notching them with? I keep breaking mine.
-
These run @ 3" by 1". They vary a bit because I focus more on matching weight than size. Also, I use the basal notch for small weight reduction as the very last step because it won't show after the point is hafted.
For notching, I use a horseshoe nail.

What kind of scale do you use for your grain measurement ? Do small digital scales typically have the capability to measure in grains?
-
Yes sir, 3rivers sells a $20 digital pocket scale that I have used the crap out of. Super handy and I find I'm constantly using it.
-
Those are nice, Scott.

Thanks Scott I think ill pick one up !
