Title: Cheap bending strap material.
Post by: BL on November 01, 2013, 08:17:48 pm
I've got this old tape measure I was taking apart to try and fix.  I never realized how much spring steel is inside of these things.  If anyone's looking for a quick and cheap source of strap material, this might be a way to go.  It's about an inch wide and I don't know how many feet of it was in there, but plenty for a lifetime supply of strapping.  Has anyone tried using this before?

The local lumber yard that I visit has tons and tons of metal straping in the garbage bin, the black stuff used for straping the skids of lumber. ;)
