So this is the bow I've been showing around town, just trying to get these things out of the woods a bit. Top limb was fun to tiller and came out smooth as butter, though I'm going to thin the tips even farther for vanity's sake ;D
~55# 26" (my scale broke today, had to compare this to another bow :-[ )
One inch of set
621/2" ntn
13/4" to 1" handle
Top fade 13/4" bottom fade 2"
Top knot widest point at 21/4"

No full draw yet. Nobody to help me out.

Looking good can't wait to see the full draw :)

I wish I had a better camera. Tight rings plus trapping makes my favorite wavy effect on the back of the bow, but vine maple is so white my camera just sees glare.

Looks great... what is Vine maple like to work with..?

Strangely predictable for all the twists and bends. It's a little stringy and tore out a few times around the knots, and I peeled whole, intact rings from the belly while I was using the machete. I prefer using the compression side of the wood as it takes very little set, but finding a piece to show that off is difficult.

Very very nice it looks real good

Looks great. I like it and kinda reminds me of one of Zion's cool bows, hows it shooting for you?
-
I need some new arrows, but with the two I have left I was able to hit consistently from twenty yards. After that I think it got to be too much walking/pacing and I was the weak link ::) Hits plenty hard, pierced most of the carpet I have tied to my target, and like I said there's no hand shock even with a little extra wood on the tips. I'm thinking if I get the tips how I usually like them I can stick an arrow in the plywood ;)

I like it! You handled the character well! Josh

Sweet looking bow, i like the grip. BB, i know what you mean, it kinda looks like a hawthorn bow i made a while back. :o

Thanks guys :D
Not sure what I'll reveal next. I'm thinking either a short pyramid, or a long character recurve-- both black locust.
