ok so since its been a common theme of people not knowing what to make for their recip ill make a wish list like Ed Brooks suggested. list what you want, and make a it a good long list, if you only put down that you want a knife and the person who got your name has never made one then your SOL. and just because you put it down here doesnt mean you are gonna get it, this is a WISH list not a get me this or ill cry list lol.
heres my list of things would like
arrows(any kind spined from 50-60#)
knife
hatchet
bow(any style)
raw material of any kind(i have no staves if your feeling generous)
quiver
arm guard
BASICALLY ANYTHING I DONT REALLY CARE, IM NOT GREEDY
-
Anything that I recieve will be great! I am easy to please

Raw materials would be great.
Any type of archery accessories
Arrows, any kind 45-50 or 50-60 spined.
Any thing with a pointy/sharp end
leather goods would be good as well.
Bows would probably be okay too ;)
I'll be super happy with anything. Everyone here makes some really cool stuff, so I don't think any of us can really loose. Except for my victim recipient.

Knowing what you're going to get kind of takes the fun out of it so, I would be honored to receive what ever from whomever drew my name.
-
i agree thats why we dont know who has out name.

I'd like a bow mostest... But be honored for n e of you to waste your talents on me. I'm pretty easy too :o
-
My top two picks would be a bow or a tomahawk, but anything handmade is good too.
Jon
-
I will treasure whatever shows up on my doorstep.
-
I will like almost anything except dirt... and if its clay dirt I will like it ;)
I would love to get-
arrows- #45-60
bow- #50-60
stone points
knife
drawknife
leather
cord(string material)
my recipiant victim will probably get a bow... and a few arrows...
-
I am pretty stoked on what I am making for my recipient and I know that if it is this much fun making the gift, then getting what comes will be great. I can't say there is anything I really have for a wishlist, but to make it easier for anyone who got me that may not really know me:
bow
atlatl
knife
hunting arrows 55-65 spine
battle axe (just sounds cool)
pretty basic stuff really. if you already got my name and have an idea that is not on this list, you are more creative than I and I look forward to it.
-
Top things,Tomahawk, possibles bag, coon skin hat (or any skin hat I have a medium sized head) or anything will suit me just fine.Just proud to be in such good company! :)
-
This is kinda like a letter to Santa. Lol !
Anything is great with me. If a bow I shoot lefty.
Other than that it doesn't matter to me. The whole hand made thing is what makes it special.
-
I am good with anything, it is a gift giving experience and I believe the joy is in the giving so I will be thrilled with anything you guys would honor me with.

then ill honor you with the gift my son gives me every day,,,,,,, A DIAPER!!!!! lol merry christmas
-
My wife gets ticked cause I am such a hard guy to shop for! I have to take pics of what I want and make her a Bens wish list mini catalog! I aint too picky unless she gets me something I don't really want or won't use.
-
Just wing it. Send me something and i will be happy with it.
-
i could use some bow wood, arrow shafts, arrows 70-75# spine, turkey feathers, turkey box call, knife, knapping rock, stone points and of course if somebody sent me a bow i wouldn't complain to much ;) but whatever you feel like makin is good with me ;)
-
I don't knap, so knapping materials would only serve as future trade goods...which could be good. I'm getting so that I have quite a rack of bows, but another won't take up much room.
Oh! Something I do need is an adapter to go from the 10-32 threads on my ramrod to an 8-32 fitting for my .36 cal flintlock. Everybody has those laying around, right?

As long as you give it in sincerity I would be honored to receive it. I would prefer a primitive one though.

What's a khawk?
-

-
What's a khawk?
No comment.....
-
I shall now try to build one!!!! ;D
-
Hahaha...
This thread is shaping up to quite the Gag Line all by itself... :)
Would a K-Hawk be a Fine Hawk made by "K" Halverson? :)
Personally I would be Happy with anything Hand Made.
Beyond that I am currently hunting a matched set of stone arrow heads for hunting, a Vine Maple Stave or an Ocean Spray Stave.
I wouldn't turn down a hunting weight bow.
But really anything that my Builder wants to send will be greatly appreciated.

Gus is on it! K Halverson hawk...KHawk .. beautiful stuff right there!!
-
Is this another trade in the making??? ::) If so, count me in!!! ;D I'm not picky. Everyone here is so talented that I'll be happy with whatever I get. Raw materials are good but would much rather a finished product that one of you awesome people made. I got lots of ideas of what to make for whoever I get now.

sign up was open all last month and it was posted everywhere

I will be happy with anything, but if my person needs an idea! Anything semi correct to the mid 1700s,raw materials are good (please no turkey feathers my cup runneth over) bows arrows, knives, chickens, goats, cur dogs etc. ;D 50-60lbs rt handed
-
I'm easy :) I like anything and everything, but a bow around 50# would be nice. I can't believe I don't have a bow around that weight. ::)
-
What's a khawk?
You dont know,,,,do ya? :o
-
I'm really open to whatever. I like all things sharp and dangerous whether it's steel, stone or wood. I have a bit of a knife fetish if you're so inclined but if not, don't sweat it. Can't wait to see what you come up with. I like surprises too!
-
I am fairly new to this site so I'll throw up some ideas of what I'd like. :)
Being newer to the hobby, I would love anything that all you experienced bow makers would consider useful. Any tools, raw bow materials, scraps...basically I'd be happy if you just swept up your shop and mailed me the contents of the dust pan, lol.
Better would be a sweet bow that I can use as a model for my future bows. :)
One made from a stave so I can see how that is supposed to look, something backed with something cool (snake/fish skins).
Honestly, I am so stoked about getting anything from all you awesome guys. I hope I can deliver something cool to my recipient that they will like.
Skar
-
i cant either..lol
-
Well, I'm game for anything you fine folks make or find in the woods, on the farm, etc. I'd definitely love some backing materials, other raw materials, arrows, quiver, or if you're so incline a bow to use as a benchmark for my future work (and to shoot the heck out of, obviously!) would be dandy! Pretty set knife and tool-wise, but other than that I'm excited for whatever!
-
my last post was for you Mullet!
-
I am easy to please and would enjoy anything. But these old shoulders are getting tired and I really need a bow around 45-50 lbs. What comes from the heart is what matters.
-
So I attempted my prototype for my victim. It works but not like I want. Back to the drawing board
-
Stalked my victim still not sure! :-\
-
my last post was for you Mullet!
;D ;D ;D
-
To whom ever got my name. I'm not picky. Anything I get is enjoyed. Now if it was a new hawk I would be like a giddy school girl. Other wise I'll be like a kid on Christmas day.
As for the individual whose name I drew. I gave arrows last year so look for something that you would least expect. I just hope you like it.
-
If I got my wish it would be a snaky osage bow. Love em but don't have one. I have some rattle snake skins for one. If I can ever make or get one. I would be happy to receive just whatever someone took the time to make. I love hand made anything. This is my first time doing this. Arrow trade was fun but mine came in broke. Anyway you guys do some really good work.
-
Pretty much anything would be awesome. I don't have any atlatls and my bow stock is very limited. Bow making supplies and other such items are always useful. Handmade items like knives and arrowheads are always cool and useful. I haven't gotten to do any hunting yet but items geared towards hunting or bowfishing or things like that are awesome too. Staves can sit for a year because it never hurts to dry them out longer. I don't have a warbow, so if thats something you like to make then I'm up for one but probably not over like 100 lbs at 32" draw or 34". I am not going to be picky, whatever I get whether its a major item or a simple raw material or whatever it is I wont have a problem with it. Do what you would enjoy making/giving since that is really what I feel the trade is kind of about. Warclubs and other things like that are cool. Rawhide shield is cool too. Basically anything primitive or handmade ;)
Have a fun time with whatever you pick and enjoy this trade! Good luck to all you others!
-
Anything that comes with good intentions and the spirit of the trade are fine by me. Oh yea, it shouldn't be stressful either. ;)

man some of yall are tight lipped ...i guess a baggie of sand would be good ...wadda ya waaaaaaant!!!!???? lol :o O:) >:(
-
I'm glad to know my recipient isn't picky! ;D
-
lol at least ya know something..heh!
-
I will be happy with what ever I receive.
-
I will be happy with anything.
-
4dog, I can see why some would like this page, but IMHO it may put some others on the spot to make something they read their person wants rather that what they had planned to make or what they feel comfortable with. Unless you hand make the sand...that's not an option ;)
dp
Pat, No one should be picky, you know as well as I how this has panned out in the past. We've never had a thread like this before and most everyone ends up pleased.
Although I have checked this link several times to see if my person has posted. :-[ ;D ;D
-
I don't think this is a definite of what ppl are gonna make. I had something planned before I'm still making. I'm also attempting something my guy listed. I figured if he needs it and I might be able to make it it's a plus.
-
Man pat i hope you drew my name this year :) i always like the things you make ;)

Lol see dude i told you the class would be worth it.
-
right again jordan!
-
I am right handed and shoot 45-55# bows and arrows spined the same.
I will be happy with whatever I get, so long as my guy (or gal) made it themselves.
I have been particularly drawn lately to knapped stone knives and knapped points - but as I said - its all about the fun.

That's a good movie, but dear and loathing in Las Vegas is the best! This vasectomy is kinda throwing a wrench in my working time. I can do sh*t for 4 days they said. I'm still waiting on one part of the gift, got half of the other part done. Ill post some pix of it maybe once I can lift my garage door again. Hope everyone else's projects are working out for them.
