David was kind enough to do a trade with me for some of this Johns Valley stuff. Takes a bit to get used to. I think it's a shale. Anyway here's two.
-
Cool looking points, Paul. Looking at it I'm not sure it's Shale, either. I like that white rock in the picture to, thanks.

Solid work Paul!
I'd be willing to trade you some rare rocks for some big solid pieces of TX flint. Dagger size stuff. ;) Something to think about.

Thank ya kindly fellers :). How ya doin Gus?

Cowboy,
WOW!!!!!!!Man I need a leason. Maybe when George puts together a knap-in? I havent had as much luck with that rock but still like the way it looks and works. There is some shale around here but is way different than that rock, its very soft and layered. Those points look absolutely beautiful.

No worries David, it's called perseverance :). Well, and tonnage. I'm amazed at what some of the guys that looked to me for guidance are doing now. Some of the best on the planet as far as I can tell!
If George cooks something up I'll do my dead level best to be there.

I went to Miss Ellen's funeral a week or so ago. I figured I'd give Gene a few weeks to grieve before I called and checked to see if he would be willing to have us back. I sure enjoyed the last time we were there. I'm a little reluctant to do it during deer season, but I could be convinced.

Hanging in there Sir...
Chasing my Boys around, either they're getting faster, or I'm getting slower... :)
Messing up perfectly good rock.
Building a bow or two.
Snake collecting, both live and dead. Live natives for breeding, all dead ones for skinning...
And looking forward, from the marrow out, to that first Real Cool Front.
Hope to see you at the next Texas Knapping Gettogether. :)
Wishing You and Yours, The Very Best.

Very nice looking points. They look like they would hold a sharp edge too.

I bet they will. Thanks Alan, sounds like you had a hand in gathering that stuff up. You guys better treasure that unique stuff ;).
