Title: empty bowls to feed the hungry
Post by: iowabow on September 14, 2013, 04:30:07 pm
I threw 103 bowl in three hours with a backup crew making clay balls and washing equipment. These will be sold at a fund raiser to to make money for the local homeless shelter.

That's about a minute and 45 seconds for each bowl!  That is some hairy pottery.

It was crazy fun! The worker bees set the wheels up ahead of me so I just jumped from wheel to wheel. You can see balls of clay just waiting for me on the other wheels. It takes from 1 to 2 minutes to make each bowl. 1 min 45 sec sounds about right.

Wow, I almost missed this one, buddy! Nice work!

John's pottery work is first class stuff. These are not your average ordinary Walmart bowls. Way to give back John!

John gave me a couple of his bowls last spring when I was there.  I kept one, gave one to the person that covered my butt while I was gone to the Tennessee Classic, and the third one goes up on the silent auction at the Black Hills Raptor Center's big fundraiser this weekend.  Everyone that sees them compliments them.  Plus, they really hold a lot of chili!!!
