HI all, I've been hacking around making bows for a while now. I finally decided I needed arrows too! So here I go, I'm a total necomer to knapping. I've been reading and watching videos. Any good advice for a clueless beginner?

The above page helped me a lot when I started out. Even though it is for glass, the concepts work form stone.

Hey Paoliguy,
Welcome to the forum. If you don't have any tools yet there are lots of places to get a starter kit, that's what I did. Purchased DC Waldorfs book on flint knapping ( a must read). At the same time I purchased a box of rocks and went to work. Then started making my own tools as time went on.
Good luck !

Thanks all, I am attending a 3 day trad archery event in my area next weekend. I plan on spending some time with some folks who know what they are doing and picking up some tools. I will practice along with the video in the meantime. I'll get a copy of that book as well. I look forward to someday posting a pic of a successful attempt.

Mark, I hope to be at the shoot next weekend. We can sit down and do some knapping. I'm no pro, but can get you started pretty good.
Hope to see you next Friday eve, dp
