-
Thanks Dan!
-

-
Very nice set of hunters! Walking the creek bottom, a guy is always finding discarded glass. Guess I oughta be pickin 'em up! Thanks for posting them, Patrick!

Nice work.

Great work crafty.
-
What part of the bottle are you using?
-
Nice set of points. Now I know I had a bottle of wine around here somewhere

Ditto,
It's getting that time. We all need a set of points halfted and ready to go! I've been trying to watch all your videos in my spare time, have order and am in the process of learning to indirect percussion as you do, and have found that it really speeds up the process. Am really enjoying it.

i struggle with the bottle bottoms. nice job.
-
very nice...do you not pitch your points after hafting...?...some bottle are a bear to get around the concave portions..but you did a fine job...sweeeeet
-
Sleek, these are all made from bottle bottoms. I use the flattest ones and throw out the really curved bottoms. It's hard to tell which ones are the flattest until you actually remove the bottom and trim it.
Roger, yes, I will use pitch to cover the sinew before hunting with these. Using pitch to actually glue the glass to the wood foreshaft doesn't work well for me (my pitch glue doesn't stick to glass well) so I use hide glue for hafting and then coat the wrapping with pitch after it has dried thoroughly.

Man those things are sweet. I think there is nothing more awesome than picking up a piece of trash and making an arrowhead out of it. They look ridiculously sharp. Does your indirect give you a better edge than a regular pressure flaker?
-
Patrick, your work never ceases to amaze me. Knap-On my friend!
-
Beautiful, Patrick!
-
Niceset of rainbow points you got there Patrick! dp
-
Dang, those look like colored gemstones. Absolutely gorgeous.

How are u getting then so straight and wide I can barely take the curve out of the bottom
-
PApoints, I use a flat-tipped pressure flaker to create the sharp edge. Indirect works fine but leaves the edge jagged and irregular... so I finish up with pressure. I think I cover the technique in one of my last glass knapping vids.
Kid Bow, lots of practice. ;)

Thanks, Russ. They were a pain in the butt to make... so I might as well get some mileage out of them. I took a bunch of pictures with the "fancy" camera we have. ;)
-
Jack, another fine example of your cratfsmanship! These are too pretty to hunt with but would do the job without a doubt!
Thanks for posting.
