My wifes daughter is starting band and she needs a flute in the key of C. Holy carp those are expensive. So I figured maybe somebody may have one we could make a deal on.
-
Are we talking modern metal flute or wooden NDN flute?
-
I need a modern one. Unfortunatly.... wood would be awsome, if the school would allow it. Doesnt mean I wouldnt accept a wooden one though. She would probably love an NDN one....

Shoot Josh a PM, I'm pretty sure he could hook you up.
-
craigs list, google used flutes hmmm.....
-
Be cautious. A lot of times you will buy a used instrument and it could be the wrong type or need too much repair. We just had to buy a clarinet for my daughter.. $1,500.. Im feeling your pain.

Of course craigslist is an option, but who there would trade fro some bits of tree, deer skin, and other odd items? I have been looking though it, but find myself without a clue of what I am looking at. Probably going to make a few stops to a music store to get some knowledge.

buddy rodger's near me has flutes- sis got one there....
holy cow they certianly aint cheap!!!!
The one she got was like $1800 and it was only a student/amateur type. It was open holed(supposedly better tone)
keep in mind these things are sterling silver, solid tube...
and the mech needs percision machining...

Here's a link to one that Josh made. He has posted several others on the forum as well, just go through his posts.
