Title: Teak for bow wood?
Post by: Ed Brooks on August 20, 2013, 05:14:00 pm
I just got about 1/2 doz 6" 2 x 4's in Teak. I have heard on here of people making arrows out of this heavy stuff but is there any bow wood in it?
I have used it for handles and tip overlays. Thanks, Ed

Thanks Pearl, I was thinking this stuff is pretty heavy for a bow, but I would hate to get rid of it and find out I had a gold mine.. Thanks again. Ed

Teak is worth a lot of cash. Do not dump it.

Ed, why dont you do a build along and find out... We as bowyers have already broken bout every rule laid out for us in the 1st Bowyers Bible..... If it brakes you still got alot of pcs for limb tips , handles, and knife scales >:D :).... Seriously... Everyday i look on PA and see somethin that aint sposed to work... Brian
