So I picked up this custom bow from a guy at work. Made for his father in the 60's. it says #0-117? It's in rough shape. One tip is a little chipped up. And finish is toasty. Just trying to get some info. See if anyone who collects is interested. It has a knarly grip on it. Help plz!!

It also had this, looks like it says by Cale or something? Anyone saw one before? And what does the #0-117 mean? Prototype?
-
I would probably try asking over on trad gang ;)

I'm not on the forum :-\

it don't cost nothing to join...maybe someone here can help hard to say looks cool though ;)

I wanna find out wtf it is and if its worth n e thing. I've never saw a bow marked #0 of how ever many. It's pretty knarly feeling in the hand

If you are wanting to get rid of it PM me. don't really know anything about it, but I love old stuff.

looks like it would be labelled #1 of x# if it was a limited production, not 0.
-
That's what I don't get? It's maybe a prototype? Anyone interested?

That number would be a serial number the weight and draw is above that.
-
I understand that, but usually they don't start with #0

I just want to find it a new home for someone to appreciate. I don't have any room for more bows and my fiancé may kill me if she finds it ;D lol. It's in rough shape but could be refinished or left alone. I was just curious as to what it was. I don't think I would string it and shoot it. But the grip is crazy, it had a block glued on and shaped for a thumb and a little hook part to catch your pinky. This guys dad must have had bear paws for hands. Made for a rather large feller.

could be a date code where 0 indicates the year maybe 1960 - Nov - 7 or 117th day of 1970 ..... or something along those lines?
