Title: Bow for my supervisor .
Post by: Poggins on August 09, 2013, 12:21:38 am
I'm working on a bow for Dave , my supervisor at work, he uses a wheelie and a crossbow right now but would like one of the self bows that I make and will hunt with it .
The stave that I'm working on is one I cut back in March and I've been taking a little wood off every month so it will dry without twisting or warping all over the place , so far so good .
I'm just about ready for the tillering tree , the tips are still a little thick and wide but I've been thinking heating it and bending it a little , maybe flip the tips also.
Dave's draw length is 27 1/2" so I'm going 28" , the stave is 63" tip to tip and 1 1/4" inches at the fades. I'll work on the handle when I get to the short string ( first left handed bow I've done) , and it's osage.
