Well, I finally got it done!
This one started out as a thin little sliver from Kerryb that I got a year ago. It had cracks going through it but the rings and the coloration were more than this bowyer could walk away from. I had to go narrow because of the piece and I impregnated a ton of CA into the splits. This bow turned out to be one great shooter! I shot the course in Tennessee twice and was murdering foam the second time round. The sinew wrap was probably not necessary but I put it on anyway to wrap a small ring seperation after I filled it with the "fifth force of the universe" The bow is 1 1/16" wide at it widest point and tapers to 3/8" nocks. 64" long 51# at 26" bacote tips. tru oil finish with a Gordon satin finish and paste wax over the whole shabang. enjoy

I don't like osage.
Probably cause all the osage I have seen looks like a crazy knotted rope, not a piece of wood.
Its a great bow, but it doesn't make me like osage...
-
Wow Cody you sure know how to raise the bar. Very sweet bow.
-
Thanks guys.
@ slinger, What exactly would make you like osage? Should we all take up a donation to see if we could possibly get you some clean wood? ;)
-
Thanks guys.

Nope. I don't want it... (I don't have the tools to work it, nor a place to put it, nor a knowledge of working osage, nor would my parents let me get another bow-stave)
but thanks ;) If I want some osage, I can probably get some by trades.
-
Super cool bow, man yet another inspiration
-
You can't say you don't like Osage without having tried it, but you can hate clean Osage it sooooo boring.
-
Cody,
You sure know how to tiller those Missile Launchers. Great pics of a terrific bow.

You nailed it Cody! That bow looks terrific!

Lot's of character going on with that bow. And nicely finished up. What a great bow Cody.
-
Another Purdy one - great character, well done Cody ! Bob
-
That is a fantastic bow.
You are a skilled guy.
-
Good work on that one,beautiful!
It got that superb finish that all your work seems to have...wish i was as patient ::)
-
Very nice, Cody. You did that yellow wood well.
-
Real nice color and character in that piece of sage Cody. I like how you laid it out to get a handle in there between those knots. Rested, braced and drawn profiles look flawless as does the finish as always. Sweet bow all around, thanks for posting that beaut.
-
very very cool

Gonna come back on this one.I like it that much.Couple years ago I tillered a wiggly sliver of hedge with the same width only 66" long 58@28" but not having near the charcter on the back as yours. They do fling an arrow good.Seems like thin splits off of staves happen a lot and make terrific bows. Was that the case here or is your bow a sapling? At any rate terrific job on yours and the finish, tip, and handle work is pristine.
-
Thanks everyone for the comments, I think it turned out pretty well considering what it came from. But its osage, I didnt expect any less of it :D
-
That's a keeper there, and such attention to detail. Great job.
-
Never get tired of seeing your bows. Nice work.
