Just finished up a bow I started on this past winter. It is 52" long and 50# @ 24". It is backed with mostly elk sinew from Pearly and a little bit of my deer sinew. I used my home made hide glue to hold it down. The skin is from one snake. My parents picked it up off the road in a small town called Nocona Texas. That is where my Grandparents lived before they passed away. That's how the bow got its name. This bow was a lot of fun to build. The tiller gave me some trouble. The limbs tilt to the sides a little and it makes it look different when viewed from different angles. The handle is less than 3/4" x 3/4" and I can feel it just starting to bend at full draw. The handle wrap is some more of the stuff DVS gave me at the Classic. I hope to take my first selfbow deer with it this fall.

Seems about everything that can be said has been said about this bow. You claim it gave you some trouble in the tiller, obviously you overcame any obstacles pretty early in the game to get an excellent tillering job on such a short bow while retaining decent draw weight.
Your finish work is impeccable. Proof once again that "primitive" does NOT mean crude. I know you are passionate about these bows and it really shows in this lovely work of art.
I just hope some of your talent rubbed off on me when we shook hands in Tennessee! I could use it!
-

Love finish on that great clean lines.
-
Clint, how wide are the limbs on this bow?
See, I'm still using it as a reference. I hope you hang on to it long enough for me to get my sweaty paws on it. ;)
-
Dave, I'll try to measure the limbs when I get home this morning if I can remember. And I'm keeping this one ;)
-
Dave, she is 1 3/8" wide.
-
Thanks Clint, I was just wondering. 1 3/8 equals 1.37". Mine is 1.34" :)
-
That is one sweet little bow......
