Roger, Good lookin points. Just the little bit of coral that I have knapped has got everything going for it. Pretty, and durable an extremly sharp.

Beauties Roger as always!

SWEET!, that look's like some of Jeff's coral. I'm watching and waiting for the river to go down. It has rained somewhere along it almost everyday since that Tropical storm.

Very nice points!! I have knapped coral a couple of times and really really liked it.

You gotta stop posting pics of such ugly, crude, nasty-looking points on here or you're gonna give us all a bad rap! ;D

How does a person knap coral? I thought coral was full of holes and such!

This is coral that has been silicified over the ages,it ranges in color and quality from the minerals that are in the area. Most of the coral I use comes from West Central Fla.There are coral deposits in other south eastern states also. The points I'm holding are made from what we call pinhead coral and and has been silicified to the point that it is transparent. In it's purest state it can be knapped raw and makes a sharp edge. There are folks that make beautiful jewelry and cabs out of it. Hopes this gives you a better idea of the kind of coral that is knappable.
