Bow:
osage static recurve. Limbs have a lenticular cross section, widest part of the limbs are exactly midlimb.
No heat treating, but some heat corrections. Levers are 45° reinforced with inserted horn wedge, recurve kink reinforced with horn underlay (steamed), overlay also water buffalo horn, string bridge is leather reinforced with thin super glue.
Very narrow handle with “inlayed” goat leather. On the back two horn overlays to gain material for inlaying the leather.
Super smooth draw and fast shooter. This bow is absolute quiet, I assume the reason is the bow’s balance (see the pic ‘release’). Definitely one of my best bows so far.
Quiver:
rabbit fur and sheep leather stiffened up with wood.
Arrows:
bamboo, buffalo horn insert in nocks, spliced feathers.
specs:
length ntn: 61”
braceheight: 5,75“
drawlength: 28”
drawweight: 40 lbs
mass: 439 gram total
w/d handle: 21/35 mm
w/d fade: 24/16 mm (3” from handle)
w/d midlimb: 39/12 mm
w/d tip: 10/9 mm
stiff parts: 3,5” handle plus 2x3” fades, 2x4” levers
tips: buffalo horn
handle: black goat leather
arrow pass: bone
arrow shelf: leather
string: 6 strands of 452X, Flemish twist on both ends, strengthened at the ears with 2x2 pieces of B50,
enjoy ...

Wow that tiller is just perfect !! Beautiful bow
-
You've outdone yourself this time Simson! That's a very beautiful set of gear!
That horn overlay on the backside of the handle looks really nice. It's very unusual to see a handle wrap stitched on the belly side of the bow, but I can see why you would chose to do that on this one.
Your pictures are very well done too!
-
Very very classy bow, great detail work.
Lovely limb shape.
Nice photography too.

Wow! That must be one very special Lady ;). I really like the slow-shutter shot of her shooting, she has great form, and the bow looks very balanced. Very nice set!
-
Beautiful job as always ! Thanks for posting all of the detail pics. They tell the whole story perfectly!
-
great kit you made there simson, and she look's like she knows what to do with it, bub
-
Nice kit for sure. It doesn't look like she's a stranger to the bow either.
-
Well done as usual Simson. Classic lines on the Bow, tillers absolutely spot on ! Bob
-
Detail is just bordering on obscene. Very nice all round. Arrows are stunner's too.
-
Wow, what a set! She's some lucky to be the proud new owner I imagine.
-
Nice work love it. If you ever get the time I would like to see how you are doing the horn inlay tips.
-
Sweet...I'm digging it....n love the arrows too :)
-
Very nice unique bow simson.I'm sure she's a smooth drawing bow.Like your inlays.
-
Your work is always spot on!

Impressive doesnt come close to describing that set. I Always enjoy looking at your bows.
-
That is some really fine work, flawless details Simon. No doubt a pleasure to shoot as well.
-
The craftsmanship exhibited on that bow....hell on the entire set....is simply humbling. Beautiful work sir.
-
Thats a sweet bow Simon. I need to try bridges one of these days.

-
Awsome work Simon. The bow is super and the arrows are really nice.
-
Nice job on the set. That bow is amazing
-
There you went & done it again another sweet bow.
-
Fellas, many thanks for all the nice compliments!
And yes this is a special Lady. She begun shooting 3 years ago and was used to shoot a fg recurve. I gave her several selfbows for trying, but she always returned to the fg bow - until to this one. ;D
Now the fg is on the wall! Now she is on the right side of archery.
ssgtchad and dbb: I promise to do a little buildalong of horn inserts, but don't expect too much - it is no great story and really easy to make.
-
I always enjoy your work sir! It looks like the whole set was a good match for the lady! Well done Sir! Josh
