Post by: Stoker on June 10, 2013, 02:29:00 pm
Went out yesterday with my friend Bob son Dan (SkinneyD) and grandson Evan. Caught a few little ones. Evan's walleye..Bob's sturgeon 64" length 25" girth..3" longer than the old Alberta record and it weighed 105lbs.. Couldn't weight it.. Released by law.. Good times with freinds and family
Thanks Leroy

I caught one in 1998, which I believe was the last year in Saskatchewan. I didn't have my $5 license for Sturgeon, so took a quick pic and sent it back downstream. Mine was only 12 lbs not like the beast you caught. Very nice!

The Pas?  Man, I got to spend a week there once during the Trappers Festival!  What a hoot.

Love the pic of the kid and the dog in the backseat asleep.  Kids and dogs just naturally belong together like bows and arrows.

Steve - Ifin you can get there.. You will have a blast
JW- Kevin - Watching a 11 yr old and a 8 yr old irish setter run about 7 miles up and down the shore.. Don't know who is chasing the stick.. His Mama won't let him have a dog so he visits me on the weekend to play with Luke.. Evan is the apple of Grammy Kerrie's eye... The only reason she lets me go is I have the truck >:D  They are a pair to watch non stop laughter
Thanks Leroy

I had some smoked sturgeon once that I got from a Russian grocery store. Didn't taste like chicken---tasted like turkey!

You are right The north and south join 15 kms from PA (Prince Albert home of the raiders) becoming the Saskatchewan. Haven't been in the Pas for almost 30 years. There was a couple guys from the Hat that took a canoe from the Forks (Where the Bow and Old man join) where the ssr starts. These guys made it all the way. Took something like 4 months
Dharma - Haven't smoked a sturgeon in maybe 20 yrs. It was a wonderful fish to smoke and eat.
Thanks Leroy
