Red mulberry seasoned 15 yrs. Stave was given to me by my buddy Steve and he cut it in 1998. Left one thin layer of sapwood on the back just for looks, (yew envy). ;D Beautiful grain on the belly of this one and I really like the look of the sapwood back.
Bow is 58.5" ntn and 45# @ 26". Limbs are 1 3/8" at fade area, 1 1/4" midlimbs and 1/2" at tips. Handle wrap is deerskin and
painted designs at tips are earth pigments mixed with glue. Beaver fur string silencers and finish is around 10 or more coats of tru-oil, lost count :o Hope you enjoy looking at her :)

Any way you could post a close up of the tips I'm working on an Osage eastern woodland and i wanna get an idea for what I want the tips to look like
-
I kinda wish you had been able to hold your water a little longer to allow that stave to properly season, but if you had to do it...well, you had to do it! >:D
She looks like a pretty snappy dance partner, pretty well dolled up too. Good work, Badly Bentley!

Nice work!
You guys are making me itchy to make a bend through the handle bow.

Nice work!
You guys are making me itchy to make a bend through the handle bow.
It's an itch that has been going around a lot lately. No cure but to make a couple.

Thanks you all for the nice comments from everyone, really appreciate it and glad you like her. This bow is kinda slow on the arrow cast but is very forgiving in arrow placement. I love this style bow so rest assured I'll shoot this one quite a bit.
Jotec; heres a couple pics of the tips, the bottom tip is a diamond shape and the top is a pin nock. Pics aren't real good but you should get an idea how I shaped em'.

Beautiful bow! I don't think I'd have the nerve to start something thats been seasoning for 15 years, but then again I'm just a noob
-

-
perfect bend on that one! you sure did that piece of wood justice and then some!
-
That's a beauty...... made me an exact same length n style bow at Marshall yesterday ...except a lil heavier in weight...man I love making them simple styles,n love the way they shoot ;)
-
That is a beauty Greg. That bend is sweet as can be!!
-
Boy Greg, I am soooo in love with the style of bows you build! Perfecto tiller ;)
-
Sweet, you are really cranking out the mulberry lately.
-
I like it too......That bow shows all the good qualities of mullberry as a bow wood with a dead nuts tiller.Excllent resting profile too. Thanks for sharing.
-
Thanks again for all the kind responses guys, appreciated. Shot this one quite a bit in the backyard this weekend and like I said before its not the fastest horse in the stable but maybe the most stable horse I got. ;) This was gonna be my trade bow but came in under weight at about 40# @ 27". I piked it twice and then flipped the tips to get it where it is now, started at 63" ntn. With the knotty back I didn't trust it enough to pull to 27-29". At my short 25-26" draw it should last a long, long time and who knows
come fall it may get to go hunting with me. :)

Well done Greg - very nice ! Bob

Beautiful bow Greg! Fine tillered and very nice wood. Didn't know that mulberry sap is useable - interesting contrast here.
