Title: what do you call this ?? (old cleaver?)

Seems like that was my Dad's and I suppose that he used it for heavy chopping (meat and fish I reckon.)
I feel like I can use it as a multipurpose tool- knife, woodworking implement...
At this point it definitely needs some TLC. The blade needs to be cleaned up and I'll probably
replace the scales with something like osage.   
Truth is that the image I had in my head when I remembered that old knife was that it was shaped like
a meat cleaver- perhaps that's what it is...

It's definitely a multi-purpose finger remover if you ain't careful!

it looks like an old cleaver that has been reshaped to fit his needs.it is cool.

I agree. I'll post a picture of mine this afternoon. I think it's the same cleaver.

years ago maybe....
truth is that I don't actually remember my Dad using that cleaver though I'm sure he did considering where
it was kept. funny thing is that my Mom said she didn't even know it was there.
