I got involved in a trade the other day (snakes for rocks.) This is what I came up with. Still need to finish the leather work, but the stone work is complete.

Hunting points turned out between 130-140. The blade is Burlington, with antler and mesquite handle.

I hope you are getting plenty of snake, Scott, those are nice.
-
man those are nice Scott
-
those are nice .i see this style point on here a lot. whats the name of the point. i have not been knapping long and would like to give that style point a try.
-
Yep, Eddie, the trade was mutually beneficial. ::)
Little hunter: these are the perfect hunting point far as I'm concerned. Sort of a kahokia side notch that I have come to like alot. Super sharp and long thin tips part the skin with authority! Those obsidian points might not be very durable, but I wouldn't want one shot at me.
-
thanks for the name of the point . lookin forword to given them a try . my notching needs work tho .
-
Nice work there Scott!!
-
Damn Scott, I absolutely love that knife!!!!
Jon

Sharp knife nice points also.
-
I don't know Scott I think I'm getting the better end of the deal. Alls I can say is wow! And double wow! I'm not sure if I'm gonna haft those things too my poor rendition of an arrow or just cradle them and giggle insanely while drooling on them. Thank you
-
Beautiful points, matched very well. That jet black obsidian is my favorite, it just looks deadly. I wish that I could match points that well!
-
Love those points ! perfect for hunting, really nice matched set.
-
That would have to be one heck of a snake skin. Very nice points& knife. Tower

Thanks guys. I enjoy making them, and I love huntin with em!
Tower: there is a pic of it in the trading section (but there were a few more skins added afterward! Like I said "mutually beneficial"!!)
Scallorn: I'm partial to the red ones myself... ::) but black is fine to start with. ;D
Jon: yep, that style does look good with a stone blade!
Art: glad ya like them, but please do me the honor of using them, they were not made to drool on. ;)

wow! beautiful. i really like that knife. i only started knapping very recently and i just hope one day im as good as you. SS
-
Oh they'll defiantly get used. One of my goals is to take a blacktail with stone. Can't say when it'll happen but it will happen and I think them beauty's will do it.

That would be great! I'm pretty sure those points would do the work. Got the leather put together and gonna get this dropped in the mail first of the week. Thanks, buddy!
