-
Looking good. What is the wood?
-
It's red oak, made from a pallet that was kicking around the work site.55"ntn ,tillered out to 25" pulling bout 45#.have to lighten it about 5#s.bend thru the handle design
-
Ahhhh. there it is. Palet bow huh? Go figure. You guys in bow wood desert are certainly resourceful. I'm sure she will be thrilled with it. Glad I finally got to see it.
I'll be posting my most recent creation soon, its coming along nicely. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the elm. Danny

Pretty cool ! Love the length and design . Maybe throw some artwork on it !
-
There is medicine in the giving and medicine in the recipient. This bow is going places. Well done...now lets see some action shots. ;)
-
Danny ,this is the second bow that I made from a pallet @ the bush camp after work.the first was a 6' pyramid that's around 55# @ 28".pat ,will return to work in 2 weeks and get some shots of the recipient.
-
That's pretty cool on many levels! Nicely done sir! Josh

Hey all.how does the tiller look for this type of profile? Thanks!
-
Good to me, but is that arrow centered on the string? If it is, your bottom limb is a tad stiff and you might want to move the handle up.

Bottom limb stiff? I'm not seeing it

I thought he was holding it vertically. Now I see that it is actually at an angle to vertical and it appeared to be stiff on the bottom limb.
-
I do actually agree that if the bow is straight up and down the outer third of the bottom limb is a tad stiff IMO.

Looks real good to me

With that front profile, I would say it needs to do a little more bending mid-limbs, both limbs.
-
My friend terrance did a wicked paint job!will get some shots when susan comes back on site.
-
I really like the decorations! Nice improvement from a pallet plank I'd say!
-

Well ,susan made it to site today and got her bow and was very please!I wasn't able to get many action shots cuz my boss busted me in the middle of the photo op!lol!spec are 57ttt ,snakewood overlays ,arrow rest and black cowhide wrap. 35#@26.she was taking it to a sweat tonight to show it off, hope they like it.because this is a government work site I would be terminated on sight for building "WEAPONS" if caught! But it adds to the excitement!lol!

Cool bow and really cool artwork.
At that weight you could say its not a weapon..its sportequipment...or just call it art ;D
As a sidenote,Where i live bows of any weight is not classified as a weapon but sportequipment.
So i can walk in middle of the town with a nocked arrow and only be told "be careful not to poke anyone".
The downside is bowhunting isnt legal ...yet
-
You are just being a good ambassador to the indigenous people of the area working on building a good relationship between the government and the local tribe.

Very cool!
Is it destined to be "consecrated" for lack of a better term?
Even if just for decoration, I would feel extremely honored.
-
Good medicine there!! Nice!
-
Way nice like the shape and the art. 8)
