Title: New Toy
Post by: Paul F on May 05, 2013, 02:02:52 am: Don't know if this is the right place for this, and if it's not please let me know where it would go, but here is my new toy that arrived in the mail today.

It's an older one that I got from ebay. Nice price and in excellent conditon.

I tried a new one from the big lumber yards and was junk. I prefer the old ones.

Post by: okie64 on May 05, 2013, 05:05:34 pm: Very nice! I have an old palmer brothers drawknife that I found at a pawn shop. It had the adjustable handles on it but I welded them in place because I couldnt get the nuts tight enough to not work their way loose while chasing rings. The one I have has the curved blade and its my go to knife for everything.

Post by: StickMan47 on May 06, 2013, 08:33:31 pm: That's a sweet knife! I bought mine new, cost me $50. Its a 2 cherries brand from Germany and it seems to work good. Of course I don't have an old one to compare it to. When I get another one I'm gonna go for the curved blade. Mine is straight and it seems like a little curve might help some.
