I finished my second batch of arrows! I needed a couple of replacements and I wanted a set of hunting arrows made of natural shafting.
I used:
11/32" dia. Port orford cedar shafts.
painted them with acrylic paint. I modified the hunting arrow design to match the design but with a twist.
sealed with 3 coats of tru oil
125 grain points and broad heads.
Hunting arrows received black and red barred fletching, while the target arrows received red and black fletching.
The target arrows are fun to shoot.! A soothing balm to the soul.
Now I want to make a matching set of atlatl darts. . . . it is raining in sheets here. Hmmm. I think I have an idea what I am going to do!.
Thanks for looking ya'll.

nice arrows I like the set with the barbed feathers :)

Thanks fellas. The red dyed turkey feathers really popped a lot more than I expected. I ran out of materials to finish a set of atlatl darts but when I restock that is what my darts will be fletched with.

Nice looking arrows! You have a knack with the black and red paints. I am looking forward to when I get to see all these in hand.

Patches thanks.
Black and red are my school colors. I didn't realize that was what I was doing until someone pointed it out to me a few years back. I guess It was subliminal school pride.
Thanks for looking!
