Title: Flintknapping at the Classic

I'd like to spend some time this year in the pit learning the craft.  Any help will be appreciated.  I have some rocks and knapping tools that I'm bringing along.  I have no boppers or billets so I may be looking for some.

Matt Ill sit right there beside ya.  Got tools a couple years ago, and a couple pounds of rock and assorted glass, but I've yet to sit down and really try to learn down there.  I say every year I'm gonna, but the siren song of the bow shop keeps pulling me away.  Lets get some education!

There is plenty of room and plenty of people willing to help ya all.  I spent about 12 hours a day there last year and loved every minute of it.  It was just the opposite for me, the pop pop pop and whack whack whack of the rock was more than I could stand, I couldn;t do much else but knapp.   ;D  I hope it's a very similar year this year, save me a seat, I'll be there Wednesday night! dpg

I will be in the pit  thurs  thru Sunday. I have been to the classic 4 yrs an have only shot the course 1-1/2 times. I'm not addicted to knapping , really I can stop anytime :o :o See ya all thurs morning. Later Bob

Matt, you would definitely be in the right pit to start knapping. Lots of talent under one roof!

The pit is where I spend most of my time at the classic.  I will be arriving Wednesday afternoon.  I'll help whoever asks me, and then gives me a cookie (or similar treat).    ;D ;D

Wow, the chipping roster is really starting to load up with heavy hitters!! Not sure if I'll be makin or watching!  :o Sure looking forward to spending some time with y'all!
