After watching OutbackBob and HickoryBill work last weekend, I had all the motivation I needed to give knapping a try. I made a leg pad/knapping bag out of an old leather coat and some tools from rocks and an antler that I picked up the other day on a hike. I was able to muster two small point like objects out of the bottom of a bottle. It was loads of fun and just makes me anxious to learn more and get a better feel for it all.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions on additional primitive tools that would help. thanks!

Looks like ya might need a big antler bopper..Glad to see ya giving it a whirl..Check your local bars for glass.... they might save ya some glass liquer bottles are much easier to work than beer bottle bottoms, and ya can get bigger points and even some nice blades..
