As some of you know I was having Pearl and some of the other nice folks here on PA show me how to make a bow through this thread(http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,37695.msg499029.html#msg499029 (http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,37695.msg499029.html#msg499029)). well I finally got the finish on the bow all said and done. It may not be the prettiest but it shoots so here it is:

Good to get that first one under your belt.
Looks pretty good to me, a tad bendy in the middle, but if that's the short bow style you were after that's fine.
There's no looking back now!

I really want to build a penobscot bow but all the info I can find doesn't Gove any dimensions and seems really vague
-
nicely bent for a first bow, like pearl said when can we see the next ;D

Idk if Penobscot bows are very hard to make but regardless i would make a couple more normal bows. Congratz on making your first bow, it looks great, but Pearly here did pretty much walk u through the whole thing. Now based on the knowledge taught to you, try to make a few more bows by yourself. Idk about you but i personally learn best by doing things myself, and you need to experiment and find out what works best for you. That's how each bowyer develops his own style.

Way to go!!! Keep up the good work, they just get betterer and betterer

What Pappy said!
And I'm with Zion: don't try to make a Penobscot as second bow. You should get a lot more experience to make such a difficult design. I have seen Penobscot made by Mark St. Louis, perhaps you can get dimensions from him.
Again congrats on the first success!

Congratulations! Way to stay with it. There really is nothing quite like the first time you shoot a bow you built with your own two hands. Now enjoy shooting that one while you plan the next one. There will always be more....
-
Congrats on your first one! There ain't no stopping you now! Josh

Thanks for all the praise. It was a blast to make and it flings arrows, now all I have to do is work on my archery skills so i fling arrows at the target and not my dads cinder block garage wall ::) I'm all ready dimensioning in my 2nd bow.

The bend looks good to me. Congratulations! Jawge

"Can't get started making a bow..."?
I think you've put that to rest.
Keep rocking it!

Welcome to the addiction. In the next 3 weeks I will be finishing up on bow #5 and #6. It is great to see something that you made fling arrows ;)
