Just wondering how long everybody waits between applications of tru-oil? I'm trying to put on thinner coats and was just curious, thanks.

Clint , I always give it 1/2 hour to hour and make sure it's not tacky and then fine steel wool it. Use tack cloth and repeat coats. If I want a low luster finish, I skip the steel wool and tack cloth and just layer it.

In the winter (when it's cold and rainy) I do 2 coats a day.
In the summer I do three coats a day.

+1...... Doing that right now and it's working great. A little time consuming but working great. Will post pics soon. Just a kids bow but still fun...

I usually do 2 coats a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. I do that until it looks good, usually 3 or 4 days.

Whatever finish I put on, except spar U. I give it 24hrs. between coats even if its warm. Its a foolproof methed.
