For the record I don't have the skills or tools yet to work blades via forging or grinding but I like doing leatherwork so I made up these blades and sheaths. Just thought I'd post them to see what you guys think.

nice, did you do the scales too

Yes, the first three are bolivian rosewood and the last is I think like rosewood burl. Stinks when you work it but I like the way it looks. All are natural with tru-oil only on them.

Thanks everyone. My intent was to see if I could come up with some nice sheaths but now I'm enjoying the knives more. Oh well what's one more hobby. Makes Christmas gifts easier. Here grandma, made you a bowie knife!!

I grind blades for fun... I can make you them. All you need to forge a decent blade is some stock- old leaf springs work well, a hammer- $10 at the hardware store, and something to hammer on- I have used- a BL log, a railroad rail piece... I currently use a rock for big stuff and a bulldozer tooth for smaller(knives). Works great, I have a 5 pound smithy hammer.
Only issue is that I do not have a lot of steel. Plus B-teeth are rather brittle... the old ones are.
Nice knives.
I like them. Old saw blades(circular saw blades are fun) make good knives too.
