I've been really hustling to get this trade bow finished up. After the first bow came in light I was feeling the pressure to not be left behind. I had carved this piece down several years ago and then stuck it up in the ceiling to wait for the right time. Guess that time was now.
This bow is 64" ttt and pulls 50#@26". It is a bend thru the handle with an interesting squiggle right where the hand fits. The tips were flipped after I piked 5" off the original stave and that was it for heat corrections. There were some drying cracks in the belly that I never could get below so they became part of the bow.
Other than that this was a very straight forward build. Finished off with red tail boa side split for the back and whitetail/buff horn laminated for the tips. The two tone leather handle helps to tie it all together.

Very nice looking bow. I like the skin colors and the tip overlay combinations!
-
Love it. Does that wiggly handle make you cant the bow, or does it somehow cancel itself out so it holds straight?
Nice skin as well - is it a true red tail (Bcc) or a common (Bci)? I only ask I'm a boa breeder in the UK and the colours look like a common to me. Not that it takes anything away from this lovely bow!

Sweet Scott...someone outta like that....except for me cus I hate osage bows ::).....riiiiiiiiight ;D

Turned out just dandy man. It will be treasured by its new owner, that is certain......And thanks to the shadows, we dont have to see your ugly mug in the pics! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Fair enough! It's sparked my interest though - I don't know if any of you guys who use snake skins on your bows (i've not tried it yet!) have been able to find a True Red Tail (Boa Constrictor Constrictor) but I reckon they'd look absolutely breathtaking. Here's a pic of what I mean - if any of mine die at any point I'll definitely be using them for a bow!

Thanks, Jdub. I think this guy is gonna appreciate the meaning of the word as well. Hopefully, I can get this stick sent off to its new home soon.
