The second elder bow is a kinda eastern woodland (not the right wood).
62"ntn, 57#/28", bendy and not narrowed handle.
Arrow pass is marked with an inlay of stone powder/glue mixture.
This was an oval shaped stave, using the flatter side. The other half was not usable (rotten). At handle section is the exact half of the stave, you can see the half diameter pith groove.
The wood of elder is a bit boring. I decided to stain the back with red, yellow and black. Thrown in salt in the still wet dye results in the spotted (?) appearance. Finished with several coats of hard oil.
Single nocks (side nocks) are opposing, below is a wrapping soaked in shellac to prevent splitting (string cutting).

Nice, like that lay flat unbraced profile and smooth bendy handle tiller. These 3 part species specific bow post your doing are cool 8)
I like that parts 1 & 2 bows are different styles, can't wait to see #3 elderberry.

Again a wonderful bow I just want to make the same bow!! But I don't know if I can....The side nock idea is very nice and opposing them makes total sense. Well done looking forward to 3/3

Nice one, Simson! Had to do my tips like that on a BBO I'm working on. I think yours looks better, though! :)

I love the finish and the pith groove is pretty cool!
