Heres a hackberry bow I made for myself a couple years ago. Somehow it ended up reversing tiller so I reworked it by belly scraping
back to what I hope is decent tiller. Let me know what you think of the tiller now, seems my tiller eye has been wonky lately. :o
Also heated some reflex in that has held pretty well. Had to refinish her after all that and it took the dye job kinda weird but I like
the resulting camo like pattern it left. Was mid 50's prior to rework, now mid 40's draw at 25". 61.5" ntn
Thanks for looking
Greg

I like it and the tiller looks good to my eyes.
What kind of finish do you typically use?
-
I think the tiller looks nice. If the bow shoots good i wouldnt try to fiddle with it.
All your bows look so awesome. I really like the finish on this one!
-
Nicely done. I like the camo look too. Slick finish as well. :)
-
Greg I like your style and I can pick it out of a hundred other bows. Now go make me another one. ;D
-
Nice looking bow - I like!
-
WOW . You nailed that one.
-
Looks good to me,nice redo.

My untrained eye doesn't see anything wrong with that ;)
-
Thats a great looking bow Greg. I really like the stain and designs that your bows always have. Looks huntworthy to me.
-
I could spot that as a Badly Bent bow from a mile off. Nice work as always.
-
Tiller looks good to me - really like what you did with the paint job!
-
Great save.....unstrung profile saya a lot. What'd you use for finish?
-
Thanks Dictionary, finish is combo of colors of leather dye with satin spar, 6 coats and paste wax.
Thanks Zion, appreciate the compliment.
Thanks Dave, have to say I've been liking the bows you've been making lately better than this one though. :)
Thanks Jon, when I make you one it will have to be nicer than this one.
Thank you mwosborn.
Thanks hunterbob
Thanks Pappy, hope it holds the tiller this time. :o
Chris, untrained eye? I don't hardly think so ;D
Thanks Okie, I like the finishing part of bowmaking as much as the rest of it, gives me a chance at trying to be creative.
Thanks Slim, your eyesight must be better than mine.
Thanks smoke

After seeing this I was so inspired I went out back and started working on a curvy hackberry stave. Thanks for posting.

That's a lot of coats!
Is there a noticeable difference from using 6 coats rather than say...3?
-
looks sweet, you'll have to bring it when we meet up
-
Thanks Carson, glad ya like her.
Thanks bub, not much style in me so I try to give it to the bows.
Thanks Tim, be sure to post your curvy hackberry when your done.
Dictionary, if your out in the rain all day hunting I think 6 to 10 coats + wax is better than three. :)
Thanks Paul, hopefully soon we'll get some decent weather and free time to meet up and do some shooting man. :)
-
Great looking bow Greg! Always love the way you finish out your bows
-
Looks great Greg! I don't blame you for going back to it and your makeover looks like a success. I usually keep reworking them till they blow all to pieces. :D
-
Looks spot on ,nice job!
