I had to finish some target arrows to take to Hedgeapple's get-together. Bamboo shafts, turkey feathers, selfnocks painted white, and duplex nail points. I dyed the feathers with some green kool-aid. I left the cock feather plain. The wrappings are heavy duty outdoor thread soaked in superglue 2x.

Nice looking arrows there man. Awesome job.
-
Those should work just fine for you Clint.
-
Those shafts look kind of familiar. Is that some of that N.C. stuff?
-
Nice arrows. Hill cane is my all time favorite! I need to get more.

Some of them are from you Old Hippy. I had a mixture of shafts that I made up and about half of them were from you.
-
Matt, you got some coming soon! ;)
-
Nice work Outlaw, real handsome arrows there.

Those turned out nice.

Those white self nocks really class up an arrow. As soon as I make more that will be taken under advisement
-
I was hoping the white nocks would make them easier to find on the rare occasion I miss a target ::)

Why did you tie the front of the feather and not the back? Just for your hand protection or another reason? I am too symmetrical to ever let myself get away with that. I would do both or none. That is just me, though. I assume they are glued so it is just for looks anyway, right?
They do look real nice. I like green.

The feathers are glued on. I wrapped them in front to add a little protection from them coming loose. I don't feel there is a need to wrap the back of them. It would just be added weight. I also wrap in front of the self nock to keep it from splitting.

Thanks for the reply. Very nice. Love the idea of setting the nock off visually. How do they fly?
Russ

They fly great.
-
Very nice set of ammo Clint! I may have to try the duplex thing one of these days. Seems simpler than sizing hardwood dowels and putting on glue on points.

Awesome arrows Clint! I too wrap down only the front of my feathers that I glue down for that extra bit of security to keep the feathers from stripping off..

Outstanding work! Those look great.
-
beauties! great job on those cane shooters.
-
Lookin good Clint. Maybe I'll get to see them @ the Classic if you don't loose/break them all by then. >:D
Nice work as always, dpg

Those look great Clint. How much of the nail length is inserted into the shaft?
-

That does it. You have to shoot from the professional peg. There'll be a Clint Peg and a peg for the rest of us. haha
Nice looking arra, BTW

The rest of the nail. I didn't cut any of the length off, I just ground the top head into a point.

You better put my peg about 10 yards closer than your guys peg. I need some shooting lessons for sure.

Just remember the deer and other animals on the course are just foam. You don't have to miss to try to scare them off. It want work. They'll just stand there. haha haha

Nice looking arrows, Clint! Painting them nocks white will make them easier for nock hunting! >:D Like the color on the hen feathers.
