Been giving all my bows away here lately, gaining experience along the way so it's all good :). This is a short light one (dad picked out the stave). I kept it light cause he doesn't have the upper body strength anymore. It's 60" N/N, 42#'s @ 26". Did a little experimenting with finishes and such - felt like it had a pretty good tiller - till I looked at the full draw picture, oh well it still flings an arra plenty good enough.

Great profile on that bow and the tips are really well done. I love it!
-
Very nice Paul. I love the dark/light contrast on the belly. That would be a good back camo. I bet Dad loves it! Pat

Thanks all! That was another learning experience for me - tiller is all screwed up and kinda light, I need to perfect some method that works for finish tiller besides eyeball ;D.
I forgot to mention that it's deerhide backed. The stain job headed south too, it took on the zebra look after I 0000 steel wooled out all the fingerprints. On a more possitive note - It does go back straight after awhile if not a little backset and the tips are improving, hehe :).
I'll be spending more time with dad now (showing him how to shoot), and hey Keith - that's out at the poor farm where I grew up, they've always got some kind of critters to feed. Most recently horse's.

Looks good to me cowboy especially like the tips. Well done.

Darn nice gift for Dad. Do you shoot with him? Got you bookmarked for Oct Self Bow of the Month for sure.
-
:o Damn, Paul-how'd you get so good at this so quick? :o That's a beauty! Tiller looks good to me, a little stiffer on the bottom, but that's a good thing sometimes.
-
I believ the term "functional art" fits perfectly ;D
-
Great looking bow Paul-nice art work also.
-
Great job, and of all the comments earlier, ditto! :)

Hahaha ;D - Steve your crackin me up, don't ever forget that Outlaw Jose Wells (endeavor to persevere) thing - my wife's bout ready to fix me up a bed in the shop ;D ;D.
Appreciate the compliments everybody! I'm probably still gonna build him a better one later though, hmm after all the other free orders - gotta go make shavins, hehe........

That is a great bow! It seems like it's got enough power to harvest a deer or turkey. Neat bow
-
Don't know how I missed this one Paul.Man you are cranking them out.Sure doesn't look like your Dad is having any trouble pulling it back.
-
To my very untrained eye, the tiller don't look so bad. Maybe a little stiff on the bottom but as long as it shoots good it don't matter.
Hey, even if it doesn't, it still looks sharp! ;D
-
That is a great looking bow with a real cool finish. Justin
-
nice job. outstanding finish also.
-
Yep Tracy, it'll make meat ifn dad can shoot straight ;D. Eddie: He doesn't have too much trouble with the draw weight till he holds if for what seems like an infinantly loooong time (trying to aim) my scolding's don't seem to fade him none, hehe.
Thanks Justin, Filer, native. I know those pretty finishes and such don't make a bow - I'm just experimenting.
