Title: JB WELD

How many have tried JB weld for splices, and or for gluing on take down sleeves? Seems like it would be good for either application according to packaging.

Have not tried it on wood, but seems to work well on plastic and metal. Try some G20

I usually use 2-ton epoxy for splices, but noticed JB weld had much more tensile strength than 2-ton....I don't know why I did not look at it before, other than I thought it to be used for metal projects, but thats not the case it is for wood as well. The problem with 2-ton is it does not adhere to metal worth a darn....I know that is not true for the JB. Devcon has a rating at 2500 psi, JB has a psi rating at 3960...big difference! I have not had a failure with Devcon mixed right, but am always a little concerned about extreme cold as it tends to make some epoxies brittle.
