Title: Another Boo Backed Jatoba
Post by: wytetale on October 22, 2007, 05:13:22 pm
Finished up one more boo backed Jatoba. This one is 66" ntn and draws 48# at 28" The riser is Pau Fero with a Blood wood accent strip and antler overlays. Cant get a full draw pic until tonight when the wife gets home to take a picture for me.  I like the wood but I prefer shorter bows 60 to 64 inch bows and I cant get a short one with Jatoba with out it fretting.  I do have some Osage laminations that I am going to make a couple of tri-lams out of with a Jatoba core and Osage belly. I think that it will make a good combination

very neat indeed.  Great craftsmanship there  man :o The bloodwood gives a very beautiful contrast with the brown.
How about a full draw in this as well?

WOW!
What a beauty. Nice work. I'm jealous. Is it Jatoba? The Jatoba I get is much more red. Maybe it's just the pic., but it almost looks like osage. Do you think you could send a full draw pic?

Wow that's beautiful! I love the riser. I've always been afraid to make them too long, but that looks just great. How long is your riser? Also, how long is the lam at the handle between the boo and the jatoba, and how thick is it? How wide at the fades?

The bow is 1 1/4" at the fades and the riser is 14". The power lam is 18" and is 3/8" in the middle tapered to a knife edge on each side.
