Title: The Hunter
Post by: RyanY on January 30, 2013, 04:47:46 pm
This is a bow I made for my friends step dad. He's a compound shooter but has always shown a lot of interest in my bows. The billets, I got from Timo,  were spliced to take advantage of their natural deflex and and all the reflex it's held was added using dry heat. It only kept about half and now the tips lay behind the handle but it still shoots surprisingly quick and is quite accurate. This is my first R/D bow and I think I'll use more heat on my next one to hopefully retain the reflex. The bow is 64" long, 45#@28", and has some sort of taper to 1/2" nocks. The tips are Padauk and maple. Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! Also shout out to Pearlie for teaching me how to do the handle wrap and providing the leather and maple strip!

Scott, I rarely cut in shelfs on my bows anymore but he's a compound shooter so I need to ease him into primitive. ;)
