I noticed a black cherry that the top half blew out of this summer that was lodged off the ground. I saw a couple of straight sections and cut them and split them. They didn't look so straight after splitting. Are there bows to be made here? I cut most up for firewood, and saved 8 staves that are highly "questionable"

I also cut a tall sassafras, this 5" on the small end was over 50 ears old, really straight but split with a 20 degree prop twist. This stave is 7' long, another 4' section was saved as well. Are they worth messing with?

I appreciate your opinions, the cherry can be firewood if it's not bow worthy...

Most of the Black cherry bows I've made or seen made were not much heavier than in the high #30's without fretting.
