Title: One of two
Post by: PEARL DRUMS on January 19, 2013, 04:21:28 pm
I finished this bow in September and hunted all year with it, never really connecting with it. I changed the tiller and reshaped the last 12" of limb last week, then resealed it all.  Its now 63" ntn. 57 @ 27. The skins are Canbrake and the tips are sheep horn. The grip is whitetail leather.  I built a static that is twins with this one from the same tree. Same length, same weight, same caul but with different clothes....its drying now and will be posted in a few days.

No, thats a bag target wrapped in black shrink wrap because its been shot 100,000 times or so. The shrink wrap holds it tight and together so I can eek some more life out of it.

Fine lookin yella stick, Pearl. I sure like the way you shape your handles. How long did it take you to get that down?

Super easy Kenny. I will snap a few pics on the next one so you can see my layout. Its just a 4" bulbous grip with a locater and the back side cut away to reduce weight and feel better in my hand.

Guilty... I have a tendency to leave about more of the outer limbs stiffer than most. I realize its not maximized, perfect, or the best way to do it for everybody. I love the way my bows draw, shoot and feel so I keep making them the same way.

Good looking twins, Chris. Both of them bows is worth spending time with! I think I favor the static, though.

This one is really nice as well. I would say you got em dialed in PD. Guess once you reach a certain level of skill you gotta find new challenges. I have't reached that levell yet as its all still a challenge for me. Thanks for posting we all enjoy the eye candy.   Danny
