Hi all,
This is a yew bow i have had near finished for a while now. I need to tweak the outer limbs a bit but since needing to do this I have been laid up with stinking man-flu :( So have all the family so its a painted red cross on the door and just waiting for the call of "bring art ye dead" ::)
Anyways its been an age since i made an elb so very rusty indeed. It was so hard to get out of the flat and short mentality and into the rounded and loooong.
Its 70 something long and about 60 at 29. Cant seem to drag it out much further as I cant seem to nock up out that far, yet.
Anyways some pretty pictures to pass a few minutes until I can man-up get out there and do a money shot.

That is a fantastic all the way around. Great work on the handle wrap/arrow pass combo, too. Very classy.

Beautiful, as always! I really like the little touches on the handle.

Nice... but whaaaa there are spots of water on your your bow :o whaaaa (runs round in circles shreiking)
I like the clever balancing the bow on the arrow shot... I may have to 'borrow' that trick O:)
Cunning leather grip/arrow pass too.

Thanks all :)
The wet and wild shot was pure accident. I didn't push the arrow into the ground far enough and the bow fell off ;D
Still rough as a badger but will get out and take some FD shots soon as i can.

Went out and put her through boot camp. Stupidly forgot to take pictures of me shooting it. Didnt have much of a go due to a creaking shoulder but here are a few of the boys beating it in for me.
Arrow pass should be a bit lower here.

And a nice snowy one.

Helps having a bear of a mate to shoot in teh heavier stuff for me ;D
Takes about an inch and a half of set. Top limb has a kink just off the handle. To be honest it could do with coming more compass in the outers but hey its the first elb i have done in years. I will be making more with the two near perfect wych elm staves i have.
Oh and the accurate and scientifically correct armour piercing shot with the new bodkins. Only the tree stopped it. Just for kicks >:D

tiller looks good, looks like it packs a punch too. :)
-
Very nice and Armor Piercing projectiles to boot!!!

Tips are beautiful. What are they? They seem to have a red hugh to them. Maybe it's just the blood, sweet and tears showing through ;)

I love the Bodkins! Did you make them yourself?
-
Bodies were forget by a friend. Hope to get a whole set of Medieval set from him when he is up and running. Will gift him a bow in return so nice craft trade. :)

Outstanding bow. One of the nicest grips I've seen
